The apostle Paul wrote in Titus 2:11-14, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” This passage describes the truth of who we are as believers in Jesus Christ. And as believers, the gospel is at the center of who we are. We believe as Paul writes in Romans 1:16-17, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith'."
Jesus has given the church the great commission to make disciples, proclaiming the truth of the gospel. As a community of believers, it is our desire to “proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9) and to remind ourselves and proclaim to others the truth in Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
